About the competition
On February 1st, 2020, Hebron High School will be hosting Digital Divas, an all girls high school computer programming competition. We will have three divisions: a novice division for girls with little-to-no programming experience, an intermediate division for girls with general experience in computer science, and an advanced division for girls with greater programming experience. The top placing team of the advanced division will win a summer internship at Kalkomey Enterprises. We will also have a non-competitive option for those who wish to attend workshop sessions to learn about coding. Through Digital Divas, we seek to continue the tradition of introducing girls to computer science and promote the presence of women in the STEM field.
Teams consist of up to three girls per team. Teams can bring one reference book. Teams are encouraged to bring one laptop per team. Computer should have WIFI capability and configuration access. We will be using HackerRank, here is a comprehensive list of programming languages that can be used.
If a team is unable to bring a laptop and would like to use our desktop PCs, please choose that option on the registration form. Desktops PCs are limited and should only be requested by teams that do not have access to a their own laptop. Desktop PCs will provided on a "first registered first served" basis.
We are also offering a special workshops called AI Bot Camp that is open to all middle school girls! There is limited space for the first 60 student registrations. This is a great way to learn about the basics of programming and artificial intelligence.
